PureVPN is a well-known and popular VPN provider. We have been testing and using PureVPN regularly for more than ten years. Throughout this period, things have changed frequently, and PureVPN has been both praised and hated. But, what is going on right now? Is it possible to watch Hulu, ESPN+, and DIsney+ with PureVPN? Why isn’t it working anymore?
First of all, I will not tell you for sure that PureVPN doesn’t work with Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+. I would definitely take a round with the PureVPN customer service (live-support) and ask them for help. It might be that they have a server hidden somewhere that will help you access these popular streaming services in the United States. But, based on my recent testing, I had a very hard time actually finding one.
Why isn’t Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+ working with PureVPN?
If you didn’t know it, these three providers are all a part of the Disney family. In fact, these streaming services together now have more subscribers worldwide than Netflix. Since they are all owned by the same company, they also cooperate when it comes to blocking IP addresses provided by VPN providers such as PureVPN. That is why a VPN giving access to Hulu will also help you watch ESPN+ and Disney+. In the same way, a VPN blocked by ESPN+ will most likely be blocked also by Disney+ and Hulu.
- If you try to log in or stream content on Hulu with PureVPN, you will see an error message telling you that it cannot be done.
- As you visit plus.espn.com, the website will not even load properly due to the VPN.
- You will not be able to log in with your credentials at Disney+ if the PureVPN server you are using is blocked.
What can you do about this?
Once again, if you have a PureVPN subscription already, you can ask PureVPN customer service for help and advice. They might have some special server available, hidden from the public, or maybe they have a public server (that you haven’t tried yet) that gets the job done.
My experience tells me that PureVPN wants to keep all their customers, meaning that they will fight hard to give you a solution to your problem. And since there are thousands of subscribers who need access to these services besides you, it is even more important to solve the problem.
In other words, go to the PureVPN website, contact their support, and hopefully, you will find a solution to the problem.
For Disney+, you can consider connecting to a PureVPN server in another country. You should try to connect to servers in Italy, France, Germany, Canada, and other countries with Disney+. If you are lucky, you can access and enjoy Disney+ in this way. This is, however, only possible because Disney+ is available in other countries besides the United States.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
I have just managed to watch all three services with PureVPN. While many PureVPN servers are blocked by the three services, some are still working. It is also important to notice that antivirus software might cause trouble for the VPN. If you suspect an antivirus program or maybe a firewall is causing the trouble, try to disable those services, or use the browser extension instead of the normal VPN application.
Are there any better VPNs for Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+?
Even though I have managed to stream all three services with PureVPN, there are definitely VPN providers that are better if you want to stream Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+. Maybe you are in San Francisco in a hotel, and you want encryption and protection while using the open WiFi network? Or maybe you are located outside the USA and want access to these popular streaming services in the USA? Which VPN should you use?
At the moment, I can recommend the following VPNs which are brilliant for Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+. They are also fantastic for other services such as PeacockTV, Paramount+, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, and many others.
Surfshark is a great VPN for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.
Surfshark is a fantastic VPN for streaming. The provider has great speeds and they are working constantly to give access to all the popular streaming services online. As a result, you can use this for Netflix in more than 15 countries, and also Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and many others.
Click the button above to visit the Surfshark website and to get a big discount on their services.
You can connect to any of the Surfshark servers in the USA to watch these popular streaming services in the United States. It is also nice to know that Surfshark has a full refund policy valid for thirty days. If you regret buying a subscription after 28 days, cancel your subscription and ask for a refund, and you will get your money in return. But, you will most likely miss your subscription if you do that. Why?
You can protect an unlimited number of devices simultaneously with one Surfshark subscription. As a consequence, you can watch German Bundesliga on ESPN+ on your tablet with Surfshark while watching The Mandalorian on Disney+ on your phone, while watching The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu on your FireTV. Do you have more devices? You can use Surfshark on those as well.
Surfshark has browser extensions for Edge, Chrome, and Firefox, and applications for Windows, iOS, Android, macOS, FireTV, Linux, AndroidTV, and iOS.
Surfshark also has other useful services that you can add to your subscription such as:
- Antivirus protection.
- Surfshark Alert is a service that will give you a warning if your data has been included in data breaches.
- You can also use Surfshark search, an engine operating completely without cookies and giving you the privacy you need.
I should also mention that Surfshark is a fairly cheap VPN, meaning that you will get much value for your money. Would you rather use a different VPN? ExpressVPN is brilliant for the mentioned streaming services as well, but it is more expensive than Surfshark.
ExpressVPN is great for ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney+
The first VPN that comes to my mind when writing about unblocking streaming services is ExpressVPN. It has been a stable solution for unblocking popular streaming services for more than a decade. It is always up to date and following the trends, meaning that you get access to all the popular streaming services with this VPN. Not only is ExpressVPN great for unblocking, but they also have fantastic customer service. I have had trouble a couple of times with ExpressVPN and their live support has always been able to assist.
ExpressVPN has applications for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, FireTV, and several other platforms. That makes it very easy to use and no technical skills are required. One subscription to ExpressVPN can be used on five devices simultaneously, and you are protected by their 30-day money-back guarantee (just like with Surfshark).
If you click the button above you will get three months for free if you purchase a 12-months subscription.
- Purchase an ExpressVPN subscription.
- Download the VPN client to your device(s) (or use the browser extension which often works even better for unblocking than the normal VPN application).
- Launch the application and connect to a server in the United States.
- Visit the websites of ESPN+, Disney+, and/or Hulu.
Have you found the answer to your question?
I have tried to give you an answer to your question in this article. Is PureVPN a good VPN for Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney+? If you already have a PureVPN subscription, contact customer support for an up-to-date answer. My experience is that PureVPN in general works poorly with these services, but there are exceptions from time to time. If you do not have a VPN subscription yet, I would use Surfshark or ExpressVPN instead of PureVPN.
Those are my thoughts on this matter. What are your thoughts? What is your experience? I would love to hear from you!
