Tomorrow will be the one month birthday for Disneys’ streaming service Disney+. It for sure got a lot of attention in the start, and still, because of the new episodes of The Mandalorian, many people still love it. But, which is the best VPN that you can use with Disney+ in December 2019? I have done a quite big test on several platforms, and here you can find out what’s up with Disney+ and some of the most popular VPN providers.
As Disney+ launched on November 12th, it was a real cat and mouse battle between Disney+ and the different VPN providers. Quite a lot of them had some working VPN servers from the first second, but after a few days, they were all blocked by Disney+. They all then tried to come up with new servers, which then again was blocked after a few days. Now we are one month into the life of the streaming service, and what is the status?
VPN providers and Disney+ in December 2019
I have just tested four of the biggest VPN providers with Disney+ and I was greatly surprised by the results. Based on my earlier experiences, it has been really hard to find VPN servers that actually work with Disney+. To make things even harder, some servers might have worked in Windows, but they wouldn’t work on Android systems, iOS systems, on Fire TV, and so on. But, what’s up?
Well, I have tested the following four VPN providers, and you can find the status of the test next to them.
ExpressVPN and Disney+ in December 2019
ExpressVPN has been working quite well with Disney+ from the start, but still not perfect at all times. However, based on my tries, I could now easily use ExpressVPN to watch Disney+ on Android, Fire TV, Windows, and iOS systems. That is really great. Not all their servers work, but the Dallas servers should serve the purpose very well.
Do not forget, you might have to restart your browser or open it in incognito mode for this to work. In the same way, you will have to close the Disney+ application on your Android device and then open it over again.
If you click the ExpressVPN button above, you will get an additional three months for free if you purchase their 12-months package.
NordVPN and Disney+ in December 2019
I don’t want to waste my words. Just like I could use ExpressVPN to watch Disney+ on the different devices, I could also use NordVPN. Their servers are slower, so it might slow down your overall connection in a greater way than ExpressVPN.
There doesn’t seem to be one special NordVPN server that works, so I simply connect to a NordVPN server in the United States, and it normally works. Just like with ExpressVPN, you will still need to reload your browser (and maybe even open it in privacy mode/incognito mode), or restart the Disney+ application on your Android/iOS device.
PureVPN and Disney+ in December 2019
PureVPN might be the VPN provider that I had the hardest time using. They do have servers working with Disney+ in Australia and in the United States, but it can be quite hard to find them. The Australian server is slow, which means that it will slow down your connection a lot. The servers working with Disney+ in other countries are hard to find, so the best solution might be to actually contact their customer service and ask for exact instructions.
Based on this, I would say that PureVPN might be the worst of the four options for Disney+ in December 2019. But, if you first have a subscription, do not fear, you can easily use it as well to watch Disney+ abroad and in the USA with a VPN still.
Surfshark VPN and Disney+ in December 2019
Surfshark quickly worked with Disney+, but then went down for a few days. But, now they are back again and they are working better than the others. How is that? Once again you can connect to any server in the Surfshark VPN register, and you will still be able to stream Disney+. This is because of their SmartDNS service which is built into the VPN service. As a result, you can connect to a VPN server in your nation and enjoy the awesome speeds, while at the same time streaming Disney+ content with your existing subscription.
Surfshark has a 30-day full refund policy, and it is the VPN provider that gives you access to more Netflix regions than any other. As a result, this is a perfect choice for those who want to watch Disney+ and other streaming services using a VPN service.
Disney+ and VPN providers in December 2019
Are you giving someone a Disney+ subscription for Christmas? Or are you looking to buy a subscription for a VPN provider that will help someone you love to watch Disney+ abroad? Well, that is quite easy as of now. After all, all the four VPN providers work very well with Disney+, and can easily be used to stream the service all across the world.
As a bonus, you can use all the four VPN providers to unblock several Netflix regions, streaming services such as CBS, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and more, and they all have 30-day full refund policies.
In other words, go for the VPN provider that you like the sound of and which comes with the best price and package. It is also worth knowing that you can use PureVPN, ExpressVPN, and NordVPN on 5-6 devices at the same time. Surfshark VPN has a similar offer, only that you can use this on an unlimited amount of devices.
