The Mandalorian is a big hit and one of my favorite shows in 2019. So far, I have watched several of the episodes with kids under 10 years, but luckily, I watched The Mandalorian alone as I sat down to watch The Prisoner, the sixth episode of season 1.
I was quite surprised to see the episode. It wasn’t bad, and it wasn’t wrong. After all, The Mandalorian isn’t meant to be a TV show for children. But, until now, the episodes have been quite harmless, and the action has been no worse than what you get watching an episode of Angry Birds, Looney Tunes, or maybe an episode of LEGO Ninjago.
The Prisoner was a well-written episode, and in it, we meet the Mandalorian who is out to save a prisoner together with four others. None of the selected five are big team-players, and when they end up tricking The Mandalorian, hell breaks loose. And it is when The Mandalorian is out there to catch the four traitors it gets kind of scary. Here we see shots from dark rooms, it almost gave me an Event Horizon feeling. He is walking around, and so are the traitors, and when it is dark, some lights are blinking, and the sound effects are correct, this is not at all suitable for younger kids to watch. I didn’t feel scared myself, but still – this was, by far, the scariest moment so far in the history of The Mandalorian on Disney+.
Was the sixth episode enjoyable as well?
I was hoping for Gina Carano to return for this episode, but she didn’t show up. But, the rumors have it that she will show up again in the seventh episode, and I do hope that to be true. She was a fantastic character in the fourth episode, The Sanctuary. However, the sixth episode was packed with nice effects, and I once again felt as if I like The Mandalorian even better in the end. He isn’t only a good fighter, he also has humor. How do I know that? Just check the final season in which he takes revenge on some of those who betrayed him. I like it 🙂
I was really happy to watch the episode, and now my only sorrow is the fact that there are only two episodes left before the end of the first season. I wonder what will happen in the final two episodes, and I wonder when we will be given access to The Mandalorian season 2 on Disney+?
Until then, I will stream all my other favorite shows – but Jon Favreau, please hurry up and give us a second season of The Mandalorian as quickly as possible!
Did you find The Prisoner to be a scary episode? Did you like it? I would love to hear your thoughts!

I will return with more articles after the final two episodes of THe Mandalorian season 1. But, considering that the episodes will air on December 20th and December 27th, I might be in heavy Christmas mood, which will make it take a couple of days for me to give birth to those articles. But stick around, and I will for sure write something sometime!
