An amazing Oscar awarded film has just been made available on UK Netflix. The Kings Speech with Colin Firth in the main role is a British historical drama which was released in 2010 and it was written by Dave Seidler and it was directed by Tom Hooper.

The movie stars Colin Firth as King George VI, Geoffrey Rush as Lionel Louge, Helena Bonham as Queen Elizabeth, Guy Pearce as King Edward VIII, Timothy Spall as Winston Churchill and so on. The movie is about King George VI who struggles with speeches and he also stammers. So after his wife Elizabeth persuades him to visit a therapist he agrees to visit the famous Australian speech and language therapist Lionel Louge who lives in London. Although the relationship between the two men are not the smoothest in the beginning but after getting to know each other more and after working together they become friends. After his brother abdicates the throne Louge helps King George VI to give his first wartime radio speech on the war against Germany in 1939.
The movie The King’s Speech received several nominations and awards including Golden Globe nominations, awards and British Academy nominations and awards. The film won four Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director (Hooper), Best Actor (Firth) and Best Original Screenplay. The King’s Speech also won seven British Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor for Colin Firth who also won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
