Is Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon worth streaming on Netflix?
So, I quickly sat down to stream the actual movie yesterday. I am an average Shaun the Sheep fan, so that is nice to know as background information before you read my thoughts!
First of all, even though the movie is suitable for kids of all ages, I wouldn’t recommend showing it to kids under 6 years without parents or some other adults nearby. The movie starts with a UFO landing on earth, and the scenes can be quite scary if you have no clue what it is all about. And even though the alien is very nice and cute, it can still feel scary to the smallest ones!
A second thought is that even though Shaun the Sheep is for kids, it is also meant for adults. As a result, you will find lots of jokes in the movie and parts of the story that only older kids or adults will understand. So, if you plan to watch Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon with kids around 6-7 years of age (or smaller), you will have to explain quite a lot if you want them to understand everything happening in the movie.
What about the movie itself? Is it worth streaming? They have managed to keep Shaun the Sheep spirit to the entire movie, and that is why it is an enjoyable ride as the story moves on. There are a couple of jokes that makes one laugh a lot (both adults and kids), but personally, I felt as if it was kind of “flat.” But, I guess that might have to do with my age as well.
Did I really watch Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon alone as an adult person?
I believe some adults will actually enjoy the movie all alone. But, I didn’t watch it alone. I had some kids around, and they enjoyed it. They are not really familiar with the thought of giving a score to the movies they watch, but one said he would give it an 8/10 score, while the other said he gave it a 100/10 score. In other words, they had a great time!
