The Brave Browser is a fantastic browser for those in love with privacy, security and crypto-currencies. But, Ecosia is a delightful search engine if you want to plant trees and take care of the environment while searching online. So, what can you do to make Ecosia your default search engine in the Brave Browser?
It is very easy to make Ecosia your default search engine as you use the Brave Browser. But, the instructions here will not only show you how to use Ecosia as your default search engine in Brave browser, as you can follow the same instructions to use it in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and in Mozilla Firefox.
Use Ecosia as your search engine in Brave
It is so easy, you will almost feel stupid that you didn’t find out on your own.
- Visit ecosia.org
- Click the button on the right side “Add Ecosia to your browser.”
- This will install the Ecosia extension in your Brave Browser.
- Accept everything, and soon Ecosia will be your default search engine in Brave.
It might say “Add Ecosia to Chrome” as you run the Brave Browser, but it will still be added to Brave. It is giving you the “wrong” name of the browser, simply because the Brave Browser is built on the Chrome engine, and that is why Ecosia doesn’t recognize it as Brave, but as Chrome instead.
You should now be ready to search using Ecosia in the Brave Browser. Isn’t that great? Are you using the Presearch engine as well, hoping to make some money searching Google and Bing? Did you know that you can use Presearch and Ecosia together, thus planting trees and earning money at the same time?
Since I use several browsers I have installed the Ecosia extension not only in Brave, but also in Firefox and in Chrome. I am not sure which browser you prefer to use, but it is really easy to use Ecosia in all these browsers, and it is a great way of doing something good for the environment while searching the net.
Spread the word about Ecosia and let more and more people hear the word of this great initiative worldwide!
Thank you so much!
When I downloaded Ecosia, my email & Facebook & Words with Friends apps didn’t recognize me!
I don’t have the slightest clue about why this happened or what has really happened. Guess you should just remove the extension from your browser again then. You could possibly try the following method as well, which might work better: https://www.thethomasstories.com/can-i-use-presearch-and-ecosia-at-the-same-time/
