Have you heard about Gala Games? Would you like to create a Gala Games node that will both support the network and give you a stream of passive income? Is it difficult? How much does it cost? In this article, I will show you in a very easy and understandable way, how you can create and have your Gala node up with just a few minutes of work! Are you ready?
Before we start, it is important to understand that it isn’t cheap to create a Gala node. The price of a Gala node is pegged to the dollar, meaning that it has a set Dollar price. At the time of publishing this article, that price is $15,000. There is a limit of 50,000 Gala nodes in total, and as the number is getting closer to the upper limit, the price per node will also increase. In other words, it will never become cheaper than $15,000 for a new node, but on the other hand, it will get more expensive as more nodes are created.
It is time to get started!
The first step – Create a Gala account
The first thing you will have to do is to create a Gala account. That is very easy, and you can use your new account to play games on the platform. You will need the account to create a node, so get started with this immediately.
When you have gone to the website, click the Register button in the upper right corner and type in your information. If you want to support me, please add the following code as your referral code: 6149a8717c80e2732813824b
This is very easy.
The next step is to verify your email address. Check your email address and click the confirmation links found in the email that you just received from Gala.
Create your Gala wallet
The next step in the process is to create your Gala wallet. If you only want to play games, then you don’t need this right now, but if you want to create a Gala node, then this is required.
It is time to create your Gala wallet. The first step in this process is to create a transfer code.
The transfer code is not your account password. This is a second password that you will have to use when you transfer funds, giving an extra layer of security to your account.
When this is done, it is time to write down your recovery phrase. This is incredibly important. These are the words that will help you recover your funds if something should happen, and these are the words that will let any hacker steal all your money if they get their hands on the words.
In other words, guard them with your life! Do not forget, nobody with good intentions will ever ask you to share these words with you. If you ever meet a website or a person who asks you to share these recovery words with them, it is a phishing website or someone trying to steal your money! Stay far away from such websites and such people. Once again, never share your recovery phrase with anyone!
Now you will have to tell the website to show you the recovery phrase. Make sure to write it down and keep it in a very secure place. When you have typed them down, a second page will show up where you will have to confirm that you have written them down in the correct order.
When you are finished, you have done a big portion of the job already. Your Gala account is ready, and now there are only a few steps left in the process of creating a Gala node.
Transfer funds to pay for your Gala node
Your Gala account is ready and now it is time to actually purchase your Gala node. In order for this to happen, visit the page for node creation on the Gala website.
You can see the price of a Gala node in the upper right corner of the website. At the picture below, you can see that at the time of writing this article, the price of a node was 5.513 Ethereum. You can also pay the node fee with Gala tokens or with BAT tokens, but I personally find Ethereum to be the easiest token to use for this process.
As you can see, my Ethereum balance is 0 at the moment, so I am unable to create a new node. How can I fix this? I need to deposit Ethereum (or Bat or Gala) to my Gala account. How can this be done?
On the Gala inventory page, you can see your current balances. If you have just created your account, you will see that all the balances are at zero.
It is important to remember that the price of a node was approximately 5.5 Ethereum, meaning that you need to add this and some more to the account in order to be able to pay for the node. To do so, I recommend that you create a Binance account (if you haven’t gotten one already). Binance is ideal for this purpose, because they also have trading pairs for the Gala token, making it ideal for later trading with the Gala tokens that you will earn with your node.
In other words, buy the necessary amount of Gala tokens or Ethereum tokens, or Bat tokens at the Binance website. For this article, let us continue with the Ethereum example. When you have bought the Ethereum tokens at Binance, you will need to send them to your Gala account. To get the Ethereum address of your Gala account, click the arrow next to the Ethereum logo on your inventory page.
This will take you to your Ethereum wallet page, and as you can see from the example above, the wallet is currently empty. Click the “Get ETH” text to see your wallet address. You should now copy this address and use this as the withdrawal address as you send the funds from Binance or any other cryptocurrency exchange like Kucoin, Coinbase, Bittrex, or some other.
Just copy the address and paste it in order to make sure that the funds are sent to the correct place. When you have sent the funds from Binance or some other place, it will normally take somewhere between 2-20 minutes for the funds to arrive in your account.
The easiest way to see if the money has arrived is to go back to your inventory page and take a look there.
If the funds have arrived, return to the Gala page for creating nodes. You will now see that you have a balance big enough to pay for the node. Select the number of nodes and place your order.
Make sure to send some more Ethereum than needed, because you will need some extra Ethereum to pay for the transaction fee as you pay for your node. You will also need Ethereum later to pay for transaction fees on the blockchain, so this is smart to take into consideration when you transfer Ethereum in order to create your first Gala node.
When the payment has been made, you will receive a welcoming email from Gala Games that will look something like this.
The next time you visit the Gala website, you will be encouraged to set up 2FA (Two Factor Authentication). This will add even more security to your account, and considering that you are about to invest $15,000 or more in this project, I believe this is something you should absolutely do!
Start your Gala node
You have done a whole lot of work already. There is only a little part left, and I consider this to be the easy part. You need to purchase a VPS on which your node will run 24-7. You can run the node from your own computer as well, but if the Internet connection drops or you turn off your computer, you will lose rewards. As a result, a VPS is a way better, more secure and stable solution.
There are lots of VPS providers available, but for this purpose, I recommend using Contabo or VPSServer.
I have used Contabo to run Ethereum nodes and Presearch nodes for a long time and I also use VPSServer to run Presearch nodes. I am very satisfied with both services, and that is why I can recommend them warmly to anyone interested.
The cheapest server is more than enough, both at Contabo and at VPSServer. There is not a big requirement for disk space either, so you do not have to worry about this at all.
When you have purchased your VPS, you will normally receive the needed login information within a few minutes to your email address. While waiting for the account information to arrive, download Putty to your computer. This is the program you will use to communicate with the VPS that you have just bought.
You are just about to start your node!
You have just received the welcome email from Contabo or VPSServer. This email will also contain the login information to communicate with the VPS. Open Putty and enter the IP address of the server.
When you have entered the IP address, click the Open button. This will connect you to the server. If you get a security alert when you connect to the server for the first time, simply click accept and continue.
When you log in to the server, use root as your username and copy the password from the welcoming email.
This is easy and now you only have to paste the following code to the command line. When this is done, your Gala node will be up and running and you will see the reflection of this on your Gala account page as well. Below you can see the code that you need to run on your VPS in order for the Gala node to start.
curl https://static.gala.games/scripts/gala_node_setup.sh | sudo bash
You can close Putty and your node will now be running and running and create passive income for you in the coming days, weeks, months, and maybe even years.
Above you can see the confirmation showing that I have 1 Gala node online. Isn’t that just wonderful? It wasn’t hard at all. It might take you 20-30 minutes to go through this entire process, but once you have the node ready, this will just generate a stream of passive income and the only expense connected to this will be your monthly VPS fee.
You can buy even more nodes later if you want to because 2 nodes will generate even more income than 1 node. Some of the most extreme Gala enthusiasts are running more than 50 nodes!
Frequently asked questions about Gala nodes!
What is the cost of a Gala node?
I answered this is the start of the article, but currently the price is $15,000 USD per node. This price will only increase until the roof is reached when 50,000 Gala nodes are running. If you read this article later in 2021 or maybe in 2022, you shouldn’t be surprised to see that the price will be quite a lot higher than it was at the time of writing this article.
How much will I earn with a Gala node?
This might be a very important question as well. The rewards for the Gala nodes are decreasing as more and more nodes are added. Currently, the rewards are somewhere around 500 Gala tokens per day. Currently, the price of one Gala token is $0.1, meaning that the income is approximately $50 per day. Once again, the daily rewards in the number of Gala tokens will decrease over time, but hopefully, the price of the actual token will increase.
If you buy a Gala node today costing you $15,000 and you earn $50 per day with the node, it will take you 300 days to reach break even with the current prices. But this is crypto, and anything can happen! In this tiny calculation, I have not added any Ethereum transaction fees, nor the price of the VPS, but neither of them is very big, so they shouldn’t add much to the calculation after all!
Is your Gala node already running? Please share your feedback with me!
I hope you have followed these instructions and that your Gala node is working and generating passive income for you right now. If you have any further comments or questions, please write them down in the comment field below.
If you want to create more nodes in the future, why don’t you take a look at my guide explaining how you can create a Presearch node?
Have a wonderful day and welcome as a new Gala node owner!
I bought a gala node and I only get 166.33 each day gala price also has dropped massively and it will be halved again. it’s going to take me a lifetime to break even. gala is practically worthless now.
With the current prices, it will for sure take a long time, also seeing that the rewards have dropped. Now it is a question of trusting the project long term, keeping your tokens, and then hopefully, sell with profit as the price increase in the future, or just cutting losses and selling as much as possible as quickly as possible in order to lose as little as possible. Feel sorry for you!
Ps: Long-term, I still believe Gala Games is going to be around, so I am currently just holding my earnings, and hopefully, they will be worth a lot more sometime in the future.
I just found this article and I am amazed. I’d love to be a Gala node owner but it seems I’m a bit to late on this. Can you give a 2022 update on this ? Thanks you
You are kind of late, but it is still possible. Of course, the price of the node is way higher, so it will take a longer period of time to reach break even, but if you truly believe in the project and its future, I still believe this is gonna be profitable in long-term!
