Unlocator is one of the biggest SmartDNS providers on the market and if you are looking for one to save you as you want to watch TV channels and streaming services online in other countries than where you are currently, this is one of the providers to consider. Should you stay with them? We have taken a closer look at Unlocator and this is our judgment!
If you have followed us here in the IP Address Guide for a while you might have noticed that we are a conservative group who loves conservative websites without to much flashy stuff. And for that reason we are delighted by the looks of the Unlocator website. As you visit the site it only takes you 2 seconds to get to where you want to, and you can find the information you need or sign up for a free trial at once. Great stuff. But, you are probably here because you want to know more about what to expect once you have signed up for Unlocator.

A closer look at Unlocator
Unlocator does not have a Windows client to use, but they have thorough guides available explaining you how to manually setup Unlocator in all the different existing Windows versions. In the same way they will explain you how to setup Unlocator on the different gaming consoles, media players, phones and tablets, routers and also on Smart TVs. So, even if you do not have much knowledge about IP addresses, DNS servers and more, you should be able to get this working anyway! Once you have Unlocator up and running you will see this in the menu on the Unlocator website, confirming that the Unlocator DNS servers are in use by you, and then you are ready to watch more than 200 channels supported currently by Unlocator (by the time you read this there will probably be even more of them).
Now that things are working, the question is whether they are working good or not?
Is Unlocator working good?
If you have experience using VPN providers you might have bumped into slow servers, lagging and things simply not working well. The question is therefore if Unlocator is working as good as it is easy to get started with them. Our answer to that question is yes!
You can easily visit popular the websites of big streaming services such as Hulu, Netflix, Amazon.com and HBO Now, or visit the websites of TV channels such as NBC, Fox, CBS and ITV, and then you can watch these online without doing anything else than visiting their websites, and the Unlocator SmartDNS does the rest of the job. You also have the chance to pick regions in the Unlocator control panel, so if you want to switch between different Netflix regions then that can also be done easily using Unlocator.
Are there any negatives with Unlocator?
That is a good question and there are for sure some negatives with Unlocator as well. There are other SmartDNS providers out there with support for way more TV channels than Unlocator, so make sure to check that what you want to watch and enjoy is supported by Unlocator. But, since they have a free trial with no obligation there is little danger at all. And exactly that is what makes this so easy, because you can try it for free for seven days, so no risk, no danger and it is as simple as not continuing after seven days if you are not satisfied.
So, go ahead and try Unlocator, we can warmly recommend it.
