A slow Internet connection can be really boring, especially if you pay for a connection with lots of speed, but you feel like you don’t get what you pay for. That is why it can be useful to check the speed of your Internet connection, to find out if you really have the speed on your Internet connection that you are supposed to have.
There are several sites helping you to find the speed of your Internet connection online. Most of them check your download and upload speed and they are free and easy to use. If you want to check the speed of your Internet connection you can use the tool further down or visit one of the sites referred to.
You can’t always blame your Internet connection
When you want to download programs or simply surf the web, you do not always get the speeds that you want. It is easy to blame your ISP, but it isn’t always their fault. Often it is the actual server hosting the files or site that is slow, and even though you surf the net with a high speed connection, the server hosting what you want to get hold of is to slow, and that is causing the slow speeds. Want to find out what is causing the slow speed? Check the speed of your Internet connection today!
Check the speed of your VPN connection
We have been writing a whole lot about VPN tools here in the IP Address Guide. It can sometimes be very useful to run a speed test after connecting to a server somewhere in the world with a VPN tool. As you do the speed test you can find out if the server you are connected to is really slow (and you should connect to another server), or if it works good. We use tools suchs as these ourselves when we write our reviews and check the speeds of the different VPN tools and programs in different nations.
This is a cool thing, but I would add the chance somehow to restart the test. At least if you try to check your speeds with VPN and then without VPN and comparing server speeds!
So true… Unfortunately not available on this test, but an option is still to refresh the page and do the test again. Just added a link now opening the page over again, and then you will also be able to do the test again!
If you go to the actual site that hosts the speedtest, you do have that option. The site also shows you your IP, your ISP, and the server you are connecting through

Very true Brad!! Thanks for the comment and good piece of advices… often use the actual Speed test myself as we do speeds tests, not only the one available here!
